Zaksmum I dont blame you form not wanting to go out. It may be 6-7 inches of snow but as mary op's poor husband found out there is hard packed snow and ice under neath.

Do you have anyone who can bring you stuff? a friend or relative.

I wouldnt worry too much about pressies, im sure everyone will understand. There will be a lot of people getting stuff in January this year. Either because of the snow or delayed deliveries.

How close could Tesco or Asda get to your house? Is the drive/road clear enough to meet them?

I stay in Aberdeenshire and we currently have a foot of snow lying. Im 21 weeks pregnant but able to get about. Im only going out when necesary.
I will have to attempt to go to Tesco later for our Christmas food shopping but im very lucky as the council have been great here and have kept the roads and paths reasonably clear.

Hop it lets up enough for you to get the essentials.
Thanks nic. There's a Tesco which I'll just have to use. You please be careful though as you're pregnant...you don't want to risk falling over.

Hope all goes well with baby!

I too have my last little bits and pieces to get but if I don't get them I'll just have to make do. I do need to do a grocery shop though, but if I get out to work tomorrow I'll shop on the way home. Our main roads are salted but its getting out onto the main roads that is the problem.

Keep safe and don't panic, there may be a bit of a thaw later next week.

Thanks for that link..........looking like we'll have a dusting of snow at Christmas (despite the song I'd rather not)

OH slipped on the ice last Sunday.....thought he'd pulled a muscle.......Monday morning I got the ambulance, Tuesday he was sent home:eek: Hospital said he was mobile enough, not bad enough to be operated on and to attend fracture clinic in 4 weeks (he could have gone sooner but said no-his own worst enemy at times!) He's on painkillers all the time and bored out his brain -still he's managing to cook dinner tonight (thank goodness cos I'm no Delia).......wants to feel 'independant'.

Take care all of you............ our dusting of snow overnight has turned to ice very quickly.
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Thanks for that, it looks quite good so I've saved it to favourites.
I've just spent the day doing my Asda online order and hoping that it can get here. Even if they can't deliver it as long as they pick it for me so I can go in and pick it up I'd still be happy.
