Yes you will only be able to get it at a pharmacy, of course big supermarkets may have a pharmacy. You can only get 32 tablets maximum as paracetamol is restricted. Should only use for 3 days without doctors advise. It isn't prescription only but can only be bought where there is a pharmacist on duty.

  • I bought some today at ASDA pharmacy, (morrisons pharmacy also sell it by the way) at the 8mg codiene strength. It was £1.25.

If you needed a higher strength of codiene in it you would need to get a prescription.

    Hope you feel better soon.

If you haven't used it before, be cautious - dont' plan to drive anywhere before you work out how it affects you. I am usually fine with most painkillers, but coedine even at normal doses can make me feel all floaty - and not in a good way!
    Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!

certainly you will be able to buy it from a supermarket with an on duty pharmacist - but chances are the pharmacy will be closed and you wont be able to get it through the tills.

Take care. It is strong, and when I was given it, thankfully in hospital as I was about to leave, I had to stay in the night after a severe reaction.
  • Our ASDA pharmacy is open till 11pm and we are in a sleepy rural area.

    Hope this helps.
  • its a P line product, only available from a pharmacy. But it can be bought over the counter. You will be asked a few simple questions and given some advice about usage.
  • do you have a local 100hr pharmacy. have a google, in most high density urban areas there are a few around.
