Finding a member

Hope that this is the correct place to post this.
A friend of mine joined the forum a few weeks back. He is user: DeanoC. When I have looked at the members list, I cannot see him. Why is this?
He sent me a PM and that is the only way I can find him. If I click on his profile, it says that he has been thanked 5 times in 2 posts but his post count only shows as 1 and he only has 1 thanks for that post.
Strange.

Sounds like he has had some posts deleted in that case. If you have thanks you retain the thanks even if the posts are deleted.
If he joined recently he may not show up on the members list as yet.0 -
No-one with less than 100 posts appears on the members list, maybe this is why you cannot find themAlison_B wrote:Hope that this is the correct place to post this.

If you have trouble finding people, try putting them on your buddy list!!
Click on their profile>>click on add to my buddy list>>confirm that you want them on your buddy list.
Then if you want to see if they are about or want to pm them you can do this...
Click on quick links>> click on open buddy list
A pop up should appear with your buddy list in it, people who are online will show up as red with a green light by them.
To pm them then...
put a tick in the box by their name>>scroll down to the bottom of the list>>click on pm users and it will open a pm
This is also the way to multiple pm, just tick up to 5 names (I think) and click on pm users and it will open one pm that will be sent to those you have selected.
I live in my own little world, but it's ok as everyone knows me here

An easy (well I find it easy
) way to find a user who isn't on your buddy list -
1. Click on search, then click advanced search.
2. Type their name into the 'Search by Username' box (If you are sure of the exact spelling leave the 'exact name' box ticked, if not - untick it and it will find the nearest options) I tried the search for DeanoC and his post came up straightaway.
3. Make sure the 'search in forums' bit is on the 'search all open forums' section.
4. Hit return or click 'search now'
I have my search set to 'show results as posts' as well instead of just the threads.I'm a little angel
BUT A WHOLE LOTTA DEVIL

I did try this and it is now coming up. It didn't show the user for the first few weeks.0
