Strange rail ticket question

You would only get a full refund on an Anytime/Off Peak if it was taken back within 30mins - some will do an hour - otherwise it's the admin fee.
This can often be waived however if the ticket is bought in before the date on the outward portion and is being swapped to another date.0 -
You might want to take advantage of 2 for 1 offers for rail travellers (where you need a ticket to claim the offer), but don't want to use a train.
(Though the OP says he is getting no financial advantage).
So maybe he wants to show his wife he's got to go on a journey when he really just wants to go to play bingo that night and sleep with his mistress?0
