i did ask them why they reversed my payment? hence why i tried to pay my credit card bill off again on telephone banking. Lloyds said its a central team issue.
I complained and wrote Lloyds a letter but they just stated and they can block my account and do so at any time this is in the terms and conditions - i am none the wiser, thats why i am asking you kind people if you can give me some advice0 -

What is a central team issue?
This is what you should have asked them and found out.
I doubt anybody here would be able to give you any advice, apart from Lloyds themselves.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -

1. 21st october i went into branch to pay off my credit card bill via my current account- my debit card (1000 in my account), payment was accepted for credit card and then reversed by lloyds
2. 24th october telephone banking again i paid of cc bill via debit card and yet again was declined (1000 in my act)
I don't understand how the OP paid their bill "by debit card" in branch and/or by phone
Debit card is not mentioned as a method of payment on the Lloyds TSB website
http://www.lloydstsb.com/credit_cards/credit_card_faq.asp
"How do I make a payment?
There are a number of ways to make a payment:
* Internet Banking – if you have a Lloyds TSB account, you can register for Internet Banking and make the payment online.
* At a bank – use the Bank Giro Credit pay by cash or cheque over any bank counter. There may be a charge if the payment is made at a Bank other than Lloyds TSB.
*
Direct Debit – a payment taken each month from a bank or building society of your choice and paid directly into your credit card account.
* By cheque - use the Bank Giro Credit slip and envelope supplied with your monthly statement."
So I do not see how a debit card payment could be made by phone as it is not listed as a payment method by Lloyds TSB
As far as the1. 21st october i went into branch to pay off my credit card bill via my current account- my debit card (1000 in my account), payment was accepted for credit card and then reversed by lloyds
Perhaps the OP withdrew cash from their current account by debit card - then paid the cash into their credit card account
It is usual for a "Bank Giro Credit slip" to be used , however Bank Giro Credit slips have not been mentioned by the OP
If cash and a Bank Giro Credit slip were used I do not see how the money found its way back to the OP
The OP is vague about the matter , so is it possible that they withdrew cash by debit card and then inserted their credit card into the chip and pin machine and asked for the cash to be deposited to the account ?
I think Lloyds TSB accept deposits to bank accounts using a debit card instead of a paying in slip to bring up the account number , this method is not used for credit cards however and I have not tried it so do not know whether it would be noticedHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Communication (or lack of it) is the key here - several posts by OP, yet still none of us can understand the timeline etc.
Lloyds provided a provisional explanation about the "central team issue" yet the OP did not ask what that actually meant.
Seems that s/he caused a scene as described above.... "fought with them in the branch and then i threatened to call the police as they wouldnt allow me access to my money" - again, never actually obtained an explanation of how the error occurred or why the account had been frozen.
So, now the OP is asking for answers here from a random group of strangers who have no personal knowledge of the events or issues - why not just ASK YOUR BANK for an explanation.
Were there suspicious transactions that led the bank to freeze the account? Or, insufficient cleared funds for the initial CC payment? Who knows?
OP - just start a dialogue with Lloyds (minus the fighting etc) and then you will understand the events and how to rectify the situation.:hello:0 -

i did ask them what is the central team issue- they said Lloyds dont like the way i have been banking thus have the right to block my account, and thus wouldnt clarify any further0 -

This is the method stated to me to use by Lloyds, who said it was the fastest way to pay off my credit card bill and thus no need of bank giro slip/dd/or withdraw cash, just state in branch/telephone bank, how much you wish to pay off and it is paid off immediately, via my current account/debit card payment, and its done in seconds.0 -

Oiii hang on!
i did ask for stupid lloyds for an explanation on why the account was frozen - they stated central team issue - and they have a right to block accounts any time and wouldnt elaborate. There were sufficient funds in the account to clear the CC payment.
I am asking MSE users if they have experienced a similar issue and give me the best advice.0 -

So was the debit card just used for identification and the payment made by bill payment from your current account to your credit card ?
Did you show the staff your credit card for them to know the credit card account number ? or did they already know it ?
Couldn't you have used internet banking to do the same thing ?
Obviously pay the minimum via another bank using Bacs or bank giro to avoid adverse info being recorded at the credit reference agenciesHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
This is why most people setup direct debits to auto pay, at least the minimum, off their credit card bills.... you should do this to avoid this happening again in future0
