Ever tried to leave 02 mobile phones

:mad: I knew I had to pay £15.00 to leave 02 even though it,s pay as you go. What I did'nt realise is the run around you get, so you can't go anywhere. On 9.12.10 it took me 1 & 1/4 hours to get the right authorisation to be allowed to request a code, as the only security question was when did you last put credit in your phone. As i hardly use it i could't remember the exact day, hense the endless security in case i'd nicked the phone! I was told to wait a week. so today i phoned to find out where my code was. I was told it had;nt been requested, so they would find out what happened and ring me back. 6hrs of waiting I ring and am told it has been done but no code as yet, in the 15mins im on hold waiting to see what;s next I check my emails. what an idiot i feel when I see a code has been sent. When i am eventually reconnected, i say all is ok. ( fool that i am) I try to activate my new Asda sim invalid. Works in my hubbies phone so i ring back 02. They don't believe i've been emailed till i read it out, then i am on hold while a manager is spoken to. Guess what, even though i have a code it will not work because they have not taken the £15.00, so it all has to be redone, another 7 to 10 days wait.
A manger will call to confirm they have emailed this mysterious other company to get the code. I won't hold my breath. No wonder people just go out and buy new phones!!!!!!:eek: Ive been online with a customer service person for 30mins half of that she had the wrong number and couldn't tie in my sim. told me it will be 28days. Now she's re checking.

I'm afraid the confusion is yours. You are confusing unlocking the handset with leaving the network and getting a PAC. Its no wonder you got the answers you did.
Also most of the initial delay was because you couldn't pass the basic security questions.0 -
Actually I asked what I needed. Unlatching a Samsung device;
The instructions to enter the unlock codes for following handsets is to
insert another network SIM in the handset i.e. Vodafone, orange etc,
switch handset on, when display reads as ?enter unlock code? or ?enter
special code? or ?enter NCK code? or anything similar you then key in 8
digit unlatch code and press ok the phone would then be unlatched.
This is the email I recieved which is an unlocking code. My phone is not blocked. The code I recieved did not work because they did not take the money.
If the ony security question is when did you last put credit on your phone and i could not prodice the exact date ( I do it about 3 times a year) then pardon me for wasting your time.0 -
I don't think you've grasped the difference between leaving a network, requesting a PAC, unlocking a phone and unblocking a handset. This is where the confusion comes from, and I'd bet its why you received the service you had.
I hope you've got your phone unlocked and your PAC issued.0 -
When the phone gets unlocked it doesn't communicate with the network, therefore it has no way of knowing if you have paid for the code or not. Therefore that is irrelevant.
They have either given you an incorrect code, you are entering it wrong or you are getting confused with a PAC. Them taking the £15 isn't suddenly going to make this code work.0 -
There are many high street shops who will unlock your phone for a small fee."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi
