Few questions
Is it wireless? Or Wired?
Who's the ISP
Is it going through a Router or just a Modem, (Is the modem USB or Ethernet)
Have you installed the Wireless/Wired device drivers.0 -
its wired, virgin media, router and not installedany drivers(dont know how).
so any help would be appreciated.
thanks.
ps its a dell pc.0 -
Dell pc's usually have a factory recovery partition, if you haven't wiped it, use that, otherwise download the network drivers etc from the dell website, and transfer via usb/cd etc!!

ok ive downloaded them on my pc,then put it onto a usb,i will try to install them on the dell pc.
thanks0 -
Yes, Dells either use a Recovery Partition which on XP is "Ctrl" + "F11" at the same time as soon as the system is turned on, which will put it back to the factory settings. They also use a Recovery CD based system too/instead of recovery partition which consists of two discs. One Windows XP and one Driver and Applications disc.
If you can't access the Recovery partition then go to the Dell support website and enter in the Service Tag on another computer.
http://support.euro.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=uk&cs=ukdhs1&l=en&s=dhs and that will show all available driver downloads. Look for the LAN or Ethernet driver, and either burn to a CD or transfer to a USB stick and run from the dell.
*Edit* 2 minutes too slow0 -
burned them to disc,pc is up and running.
big thanks too all.
