PS3 wireless problem

Hi, I am trying to get my PS3 online to have a go of the Lovefilm addition but I am receiving an error when connecting. I have not setup the PS3 wirelessly before and have done manual system updates/updated via ethernet cable.
The error I receive is - "the key information exchange timed out. The WPA key you entered may not be correct".
I have checked twice on my mobile phone and Xbox 360 that the key/password I am entering is correct so thats not the problem. I can connect fine to my Wii, Xbox, mobile phone and other PCs without any problems.
I have a Netgear router WGT624 v3. My security type is WPA-PSK [TKIP] and I have selected WPA on the PS3. I have not manually configured IP addresses for things, just simple plug and play if you like, its only the PS3 that doesn't seem to work.
Can anybody help please?

so when you manual scan with ps3, your router does show up so it deffinately is getting a signal?
you could doublecheck 100% the router passowrd by logging onto rouet with 192.168.0.1 user name: admin password: password0 -
Yes I am typing the correct password and the PS3 is picking up the signal fine, 90%0

I gave up, turned security off and setup user access list of mac addresses0

that is the worst thing you can do now everything you send over wireless is completely unencrypted and anyone can just pull what you send out of the sky, and it is stupidly easy to 'fake' a mac address of one of the conected computers.
to your orriginal problem did you have any special characters in the PSK sich as !^()£$€&*+={}[]:@~;'#<>?,./ some of the special characters cannot be used on the ps3.0 -
instead of scanning automatically for the network, enter the name of the network manually, then try connecting as before, another thing you could try is changing the password on the router and trying it with the new passwordDon't try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig0
