Ebay -is it really worth the hassle?

  • on the whole i find ebay great... better than car boots sales....

as i have had a lot of suprise results.. and prices that items have gone for.... if i had sold then in a boots sale..i would have lost out big time....

yes i have had things not sell... and things that have only had the one bid..... but i try and add some to the postage to cover some expenses....

but as part of a learning process i know have a better idea... so what things i have a better chance of selling on ebay........

i would say dont give up selling.. just be a bit more selective on items you list.... and make sure that you calculate you costs before you list... so you know you are not losing out.....

with the kids clothes i find that the bundles of clothes go better ..have a look at the prices they go for... and see what you think...

    good luck....

Why dont you try https://www.gumtree.co.uk. It does not cost anything, and its the same as ebay. I use ebay and gumtree. Ebay for expensive stuff and gumtree for small stuff.
I've just looked at the dubious job vacancies on there. "Hostess for a private men's club". Why don't they just say lap dancer?

It's not fair! I never find a bargain on ebay. If I watch an auction, say a bottle of perfume, it always gets bombarded with bids at the last minute and goes for almost the same price or higher than the lowest listed on Kelkoo etc. But if I sell something, it usually goes for the listed price (if I'm lucky) and the buyer gets a great bargain. The only time I got lucky(!) is when I bought a pair of trousers off ebay for £4 and later tried to sell them - the bidding went up to £13 and I was really ecstatic until the buyer pulled out after the auction ended :( I have no luck with money!

I have 3 evening dresses which I am thinking of listing, just in time for Christmas parties hope someone needs one and likes mine LOL. I also have a lovely designer skirt suit which I have only worn for 2 weddings which is now too big and I don't wear skirts anyway. I am hoping to make a few quid this week.:money:
