Discussions With The Chiropodist

Just back from my bi-annual appointment with the local friendly Chiropodist and I have to say and a very interesting discussion as well. This guy is big into BTL and I mean BIG, and he told me that over the last six months he's increased all his rents on each tenant by around £15, not much but ever little helps in thus climate. He's basically factoring in the inflationary figures into his returns. Amazingly enough all bar one 'difficult' tenant agreed but he soon dispatched of him then withheld half the deposit. ;) Anyway to cut a tall story short he said he's planning further rental increases next year in addition to remortgaging for another BTL.

Good times for landlords was his summary.

Funny how all these local professionals that you visit are "friendly". Mind you, even I`d be friendly towards you if I was going to be taking money from your wallet.

It's my experience that a lot of the professional, and not so professional trades people that I meet don't always tell me the truth when their businesses are struggling. They tend to embelish the details (don't want to let on that they're not doing so well).

    I've been Money Tipped!
If I had a BTL fortune I think there are jobs I would give up. And that's as someone who wouldn't really want to be a landlord. Dealing with other people's feet ranks very high on that list of jobs (above cleaning and detistry)

More importantly, how are your feet?
  • To be fair I have been getting my feet done there for years now so have no reason to suspect dishonesty. The girls in the local nail bar are a different story however.
  • a tall story .

I think the salient point about this thread is displayed above - and from the OP itself.

A great way to get sued then.

This conversation is nothing but a figment of your imagination, isn't it?

    THE_GHOULISH_CODPIECE : hows business?
Rual Moat : great, my life is excellent.
  • I, too, have 'feet' to which I am a martyr. However, I can't afford to go to the chiropodist because my landlord has just put my rent up by £15.
  • Chiropodist or podiatrist?

Any chancer can get themselves set up as a chiropodist.

    But you're discerning, right?

    Hahaha.
Long live the faces of t'wunty.
