Paper jammed in printer

Hi Folks

Forgive me if I am posting to the wrong forum

Hi Folks

A few days ago, I managed to get paper jammed in my Epson SX415 printer. I did manage to take it out (with great difficulty).

However, for the future, how can I make sure that I have put the paper in the printer properly, before I press the print button on the PC?

Thank in advance.

Make sure the paper is laying correct and that is not curly paper you are putting in the printer. That's 98% of the problems everytime.. But if your printer keeps making paper jam I think you need to have a print-guy looking at it.;)

Also make sure you fan the paper stack before you load it into the printer. That will help prevent the paper from sticking together and the printer picking up multiple sheets instead of just one.

We have a rule at work never to print on the back of something that has been printed on some time ago (only exception: when printing in duplex/double-sided). It may 'save paper' to print on both sides, but most printers don't like it, and neither will you.

The only other point is that if a sheet of paper gets stuck, you have to be very patient about trying to get it out, making sure that not even a little bit of paper is left inside anywhere.

Where the paper goes in at the back, slide the gray slider all the way to the left, insert the paper then move the slider across to the right so it just touches the paper. Also don't overload it. I find that if the sum total of the stack I put in is more than around 15mm thick, my SX415 gets feed issues.

Also, depending on where you have the paper and printer, make sure its not damp. I left the heating off in my workshop one night this last week and the paper in the printer must have got a bit damp as a result and gave me all kinds of feed issues.
