Well, people are doing it, and making an inordinate amount of profit doing so. :( How else do you think you get it?
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.
  • thats not what really what i meant

i was implying theres not a lot to moan about as technically its cheap

if i gave you £1.29p you wouldnt be able to get me oil from the ground, refine it, package it, ship it etc so petrol is cheap as far as im concerned

The only inordinate amount of profit on petrol comes from taxes. The actulal garages only make a few pence per litre.
  • how ever if the tax wasnt on the petrol it would be on other stuff

at least on the petrol its a pay as you go tax rather than just wacking it on everyones salarys, water, electric etc
  • Can't wait for the VAT increase.

    Not.

It is still 118.9p here in Plymouth.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.
  • Ah, the price increase has "been revealed" has it?
So we're being told what we already know by visiting to buy or passing petrol stations with big signs ouside displaying the prices?
Not exactly a "news" story is it?

The big oil companies have surmounted your challenge as they are willing to offer petrol on the forecourt for under 50p a litre. The lions share of what you are paying at the pump is tax.
