Protection by paying with a credit card

I am about to buy a new kitchen costing several thousand pounds. I want to pay by credit card as the credit card company will protect me under section75. The Kitchen company wants to charge me 3% surcharge for using a credit card, but nothing if i use a debit card. ( but I don't get section 75 protection).
If I pay £100 by credit card and the rest by debit card is my protection only on the £100 or the cost of the whole kitchen?
Thanks

You don't even need to pay £100 on the credit card. Even if you only paid £10 on the credit card you would be covered for the full cost of the kitchen. It the goods bought that has to be over £100.0
