Maybe the OP could confirm where it is he lives and how often the roads are completely covered by snow to justify thinking chains would work.0

When it snows round this parish, I wonder out to watch Jessica and Jeromy being taken to the local fee paying school by their darling mothers.
One does not have to wait long before we get a triple Salchow, closely followed by a thundering thudding. Great fun to watch from the safety of my panoramic window in the penthouse.0 -

I'm thinking of getting some of the socks to stick in my boot.
I saw an R.A.C guy using them on the news to get a stuck driver up a snowy incline. looked very good.
I would be interested to find out from any body who has used them what they thin k of them and also how robust they are. I have read they wash up and store away easily ...Is this true ?0 -

I use old newspapers, especially the free one, usually gets other motorists out of a jizzy when I find em stuck. Place on and under wheel, gives an instance of grip, gets chewed up and gone off the type so does not damage the road.I'm thinking of getting some of the socks to stick in my boot.

The RAC now are a commercial emporium and of course they are going to demonstrate something they wish to sell, that would get about 1 use in 30 years in the most places in the UK.
