Have contacted them via the 0207 7606500 number and said I hadn't sent for them. The lovely lady on CS said that they have many pop ups on lots of online sites, surveys and competitions. She quoted my email address, which is my junk hotmail one, so I don't think it could have come through pigsback as I use my proper one for them.

However, she said to keep the book with their compliments and the account was cancelled. Hurray!!

Mags50, Jennalicious, Justie, loobyloo80 etc - Thanks guys, i think (and hope) it's starting to get past the worst now, thankfully. I've actually managed to eat something AND keep it down now which is progress for me, i was starving hehe.

Droopsnout - Have cleared inbox a bit, i keep forgetting it's even there to be honest so end up having it fill up without me noticing lol. x

Vjain - Thanks hun. :) I have had an email saying you tried to PM me, you can try again now. x

~annie~ - I'm not sure if you have tried to PM me off this thread or not but i'm posting this up here for you to see just in case you have. I just wanted to let you know that i have made some room in my inbox so if you want to try and PM again then you should be able to now. :)

BEWARE They say on the site that they will charge you 'only' £3 for this returns service

I did login to send a strongly worded email - hope it works.

Incidently I received 2 parcels (1 MANGO and 1 Mystery & Thrillers) so look out if its the same thing they arrived about 2 days apart.

Good luck everyone stuck in the same situation! ;)

Has anyone contacted PB regarding this? I had a courier note pushed through my door this morning while I was out and I know I haven't ordered anything so it probably is from mango book club
  • I too had a parcel of books this morning. I refused to accept the books!
I have sent PB a very strong worded email this morning! Also i will not enter any more book comps!;) I hope they sort it out, i would hate anything else to arrive!

Hang on a sec, let me get this straight - all you guys did was enter the competition? One of those drop-down box ones? And PB have sent your details through to BCA and signed you up as members?

Or was it a different type of comp and you gave them more details? Or did you do the sign-up for 1,000 points?

If it was just a standard comp, and they've passed details through to BCA, they've broken their own "no junk mail" guarantee - "we NEVER sell, rent or share any of your personal information...."

They've also potentially broken all manner of Data Protection laws regards use of personal data. Anyone affected should make a complain to the Information Commissioner - https://www.ico.gov.uk - who has the powers to rebuke and fine PB if they're found to have broken the law
