use disk2vhd to convert your vista system into a virtualpc disk, take old disk out, install w7 on new disk, copy vhd to new disk, use virtualpc to access the vista virtual disk (should you need it). Keep old drive around for any problems!!

I recommend Paragon Backup and Recovery 2010 Free Advanced for all cloning and drive backups.
SyncBack for file backups, although I use the Pro version.0 -

I like the idea, but if I was to have a major problem with Win 7, then I wouldn't be able to use the Vista installation. If I keep the two partitions separate, then I can boot Vista should I have a problem with Win 7. I travel a lot for business, so I can't just have the old disk handy all the time.
Haven't used VirtualPC; is it a perfect emulation, or do you run into problems with some device drivers or software installations?0
