Could someone pls advise me what to try

Hi all,
My laptop is running slow and keeps coming up with a blue screen that says windows error and then it shuts down and reboots. When it reboots in comes up with the messege saying it wasn't shutdown correctly??

thanks in advance for any advice you give. I'm a novice when it comes to computers so forgive me if i don't understand some of the terms you use.

If it runs in safe mode then re-install the graphics card drivers, post the make and model if you are unsure where to get them

My laptop is an Acer Aspire 5735, windows vista, been going slow for last few weeks pages keep freezing and it says not responding. 3.0 gb ram

Apologies but how do i disable defender realtime scanning?

Also my laptop is only used to searh the internet and for my husband to update his website and chat on his business forum. We don't use it for gaming, listening to music or watching movies so is there anything i could get rid of from my laptop?

ok uninstalled all the suggested above but after reboot avg is still on programmes list so i tried ti uninstall again and this error messege came up
