Newbie to credit cards, any good 0% deals at the moment?

    I disagree. Having a mortgage for 5 years ought to qualify someone for most mainstream CCs. Not just from the credit history perspective, but also because he has equity.

    Definately set up a direct debit to make sure that you do not ever miss a payment. Although you always make sure you allow plenty of time to pay your card bill, if you allowed yourself to be caught out for any reason, this would mean that you would likely lose any promotional offer you were on.

    Occasionally there are problems with online banking (if that is how you pay) and setting up a ddm ensures that the onus for collection lies with the card issuer - just ensure you always have funds available in your bank to cover the ddm.
