Lost my bottom

Help you clever peeps.

All the icons on the bottom of my screen including the start button have disappeared:eek:

I cant go to bed without turning my puter off and without the start button i dont know how to:o


HELP and i i know its something very simple but then thats just like me:D

    Quick fix to get your computer switched off safely: press the windows key (bottom left of your keyboard).

    Now go to sleep and look at fixing the problem tomorrow.

    Ta boys - i switched off and on again and it came back - i guess it has a mind of its own:rolleyes:

    Press Alt-F4 repeatedly - this should close windows and then give you the shutting down window.

    Nelski, when you have some spare time try to learn how to operate your computer with key strokes. You may never need them but the 'know how' can often help in times when your mouse fails or when problems such as you have just experienced occur.

  • CTRL+ESC is a handy one for bringing up the menu from the start button.

    you can do that with the "windows" button too.
