Question - Calculating No.of years?

Hi everyone.
I wonder if anyone can help with this question:
How do you calculate number of years for your redundancy calculations?
I started employment may2001
I will be redundant January 2011.
whilst employed all annual leave increments and employer pension contribution rates were incremented according to the holiday year which was april to march.
Last year they changed the year to calender year Jan- dec.
as it stands, my complete years will be 9 from employment start date, but what about the change to calender year - will that mean my calculation will be 10years as my redundancy date is in the new holiday year?
Any advice gratefully received.
thankyou.

Dont think it has anything to do with the change of year when it comes to redundancy
It is purely down to your length of service. (ie full years)
1 weeks pay for 1 full year of service, 1.5 over 41 years of age. (ceiling on a weeks wage is £380)
(there is also a half week rate but Im not sure whether this is service up to 20 years of age or 18)
Hope you find a new job soon.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
You use the finish date(add stat notice if given PILON) and count back for full years of service, taking into account the age for the 1 week or 1.5 weeks per year.
You will have 9 years service.0 -
Thanks McKneff and Getmore4less.
that answers my question completely.0
