Hi we have just got a Nokia 5230 and it has a memory card already in it with software preinstalled on it from nokia but we want to put a 4 GB card in.

How do we transfer the software that came preinstalled on the original 2 GB card to the 4 GB ?
Thanks

Simplest way is to put the original memory card in a compatible card reader connected to a PC/laptop, create a temporary folder on the PC, select all of the files & folders on the memory card and drag them to the temp folder, replace original with new memory card, drag and drop contents back again.

Make sure that you select the file view options so that hidden and system files are displayed, or you may leave some critical files behind...

Not unless you say what version of Windows (or Linux or OSX or whatever) you are using, as what you do depends on that.

I've only got Linux boxes available to me here, but from memory with Windows (XP) you double-click on My Computer, choose Options, View, and select "Show Hidden files and folders". You can also choose not to hide system files, though I doubt that will make any difference for a memory card. TBH, showing hidden files probably won't make a difference either, but it's just a warning that it might.
