Tumble dryer

I use half a dryer sheet and chuck two ordinary tennis balls in to thump around and help the drying.
If I have loads of drying to do, I generally only half dry the first load and then finish it off on the maiden, then slog on with the rest.
I hate tumble drying, so bloomin noisy and takes ages, just love it in the summer when I can line dry, even if it's not theat good a day I try and dry it a bit on the line and then finish it off on the maiden.0 -
i too can't stand fabric conditioner etc - the smell makes me itch!
I use the balls and occasionally a little essential oil on a flannel if I fancy nice smelling sheets - I only use the td for towels and sheets or emergency school uniform drying!People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

I have a confession to make..........I finally succumbed and bought a 'sssshhhh' tumble dryer. I had such big piles, I just had to do it! But it is an A-rated one so I don't feel too guilty and I simply love it, will definately be looking into getting some dryer balls after such glowing reports.
Personally I can't bear the smell of fabric condition, if I ever bother to put anything in the softner drawer it's usually white vinegar, but that's mainly for towels if I remember. Don't get much of a static problem, but I do avoid drying things with a high man-made content in the 'sssshhhh' tumble dryer.0 -
Mine is in the garage so noise is not a problem....I'm interested in the tennis ball theory! Already have some essential oils so might try that. I will only be using the dryer in emergencies - cost is an issue - as is the fact I too like line dried washing smells!
Thanks for all your comments - you are a lovely friendly lot on here!!Downshifted
