Explosion proof nappy brands please

I have a 6mo DD who produces daily explosive nappies with poop running down her legs and up her back (cue gagging mummy and DD screaming and wiggling whilst i'm attempting to change her nappy):eek::eek:

I have tried her on huggies natural fit, huggies baby dry, asda little angels and pampers simply dry nappies but none have managed to ever contain her business.

It is getting to the stage where i'm having to strip her off daily and i dread taking her out in case she makes an explosive nappy.

Can anyone reccomend any brands that are explosion proof or any other tips to prevent these disgusting nappies.

sounds weird but are you doing them up tightly enough?
  • With a wriggler I would say Pampers Active Fit.

Go for a larger size than you put in currently, and tighten the velcro tightly, to the point the strips meet.
  • yes I would say it was weird too, my kids only had this problem if they had diarrhea (sp). Maybe the nappies are too big maybe try a smaller size? :)
  • In my experience, different brands fit different babies at different times as they grow, so it's just a case of keep trying different types I'm afraid.
I wish there was an easier way, because I'm in the same boat myself, awful isn't it!
At present, I'm finding that pampers active fit don't seem too bad, but they're far from perfect, my baby was all wet when I got him up at 7am this morning, despite having been changed at midnight. He also had to have clean clothes after a nice explosive poo, so that's two lots of clean clothes today. The other three ( ! ) poos he has done today were contained though.
I've heard good things about Lidl nappies, but have yet to try them, will have to get round to it!
  • As above plus also check the elastic frill around the legs is right and not tucked in.
You could always add some plastic pants over the top when you go out something like this?

  • Her nappies are definately being done up tight enough (i overlap the tabs) and i also make sure the elastic frill is out and the back of the nappy isn't gaping. I think her nappies turn out this way as she'll only poo when siting up or in her walker and squirming around. It just puzzles me as her poo isn't particularly runny (more like toothpaste textured) so that's the only explination i can think of.

I think i'll try some pampers active fit nappies for her soon to see if they work any better and if not then i'll try aldis nappies (no lidl near me)

I know the poop you mean! We use pampers active fit.

May be worth having a word with the health visitor about her poop in case she has any tips for making it less wet. Are you weaning yet? Our DD's has been more pooh-like since she was weaned at 6 months.

    I've been Money Tipped!
You could try a fleece or paper liner to absorb any wetness, and yes you can use liners with disposables!

Makes nicer work for bin men too.

I found she just had to grow out of that poop stage.

Tesco own nappies are pretty good.
