I just wished he'd have said if they'd effed up. We're all reasonable people ( :p ) and I can't see us wanting to bankrupt a company by expecting them to pay out many more times that they initially budgeted for, I don't like the idea that someone at their end could get in bother over it either. I just don't buy the details not being on his database excuse and that's why I queried it.

    Just got this email:

The online game experienced extreme technical problems from the outset and had to be withdrawn almost immediately. We have been working with our developers to understand the extent of these problems and how they came about. It appears that a major factor may have been the game being posted on an online forum, which was unauthorised and affected the registration process, causing the winning screen to appear to more than the advertised five winners. As a result we have a number of emails from people claiming to have won who cannot be verified on our registration database.

Your entry is one of those we cannot match to our database. We are sorry for any disappointment this may cause you. We designed the game with the best of intentions and have been working hard to come up with a solution that is as fair as possible to everyone involved.

We would therefore like to send you a £10 Amazon voucher, which you will receive by email in the New Year.

We would all like to wish you a Merry Christmas and hope you enjoy the upcoming holiday.

I'm happy with this tbh :T

indeed..lol ... posting on a forum doesn't make the coding any worse, just gives you more hits.

This is a febal excuse.. they should have just pulled it earlier and tested it.

    our reply

Posting a competition on a forum, doesn’t affect the coding of your product, and I would say at this time that the coding didn’t work as per expected, ie 1 entry per email address. With this in mind I would say that legally you run a competition and as such you or you coders are responsible for the competition as it was, and all such prizes where proof is provided should be honoured to as stated.. I would urge all winners who have proof to provide such and request said price as per your rules.

See my other reply... either pull it and offer everyone same £10 or if you are offering some full prize then all those with said proof should be honered also

How convenient...Freddie is out of the office:
