I'm surprised. I usually get refunded automatically from Amazon. The last one was for 6p though. :rotfl:

Was that under the pre-order price guarantee? They do refund the difference automatically if an item that is on pre-order drops at any point before it is released.

They no longer do it for items that are already released.

You can try speaking to customer service.. in the U.S. Amazon is apparently pretty cool about it but the best you can do is try:

I brought a camera lens recently and because I was having it sent to Spain it took a while to dispatch. I noticed it had dropped by £5 and I pointed out that since the item hadn't dispatched yet could I have the refund or did I need to wait for it to arrive and then return it and buy it at the new price (which obviously I wouldn't but was just pointing out that I could) and they very kindly told me I could apply for a refund once my card had been charged. Sure enough I got the refund.

I think if it was a while between original purchase and the price drop then I don't see why Amazon should refund it, afteral, it was brought at that price so it was a price you agreed to pay and you've had X number of days use out of it already (and we wouldn't offer to pay more for an item once we owned it if Amazon put the price up).
However, if the item has not yet even left their warehouse and the price has dropped, or if it was only a couple of days later I don't see why you shouldn't try for a refund - it obviously works :)
