Guarantee Problem

This is low value but annoying on principal - brought a Kitchen Devil Knife from Robert Dyas in 2004 with a 25 year guarantee - blade broke away from the handle and they are refusing a replacement/refund on the grounds that the Sale of Goods Act only allows a claim within 6 years of purchase so the 25 guarantee is between me and the manufacturer - I've told them I have their receipt and original packaging clearly showing a 25 year guarantee and as it was sold on that basis by them they should deal with the manufacturer.
Any advice or thoughts welcome - Thanks

I think you will have to go the manufacture. the 25 years will be the manufactures guarantee. Have you tried contacting Kitchen devils.Come on you Irons0

Exactly. This is a manufacturer's guarantee so you should deal with them. The guarantee has nothing to do with the retailer.0
