Sorry I did not know there was a thread like this and have scanned a few posts to ask my question and wondered if anyone could advise based on their experience

my question is " i have saved up £292, in £2 coins it was for a specific holiday and I am due to go in two weeks time, this is my spending money and I need to convert it to Euros. How do others cash in their savings? I am not sure the Halifax would accept it all in one transaction? Has anyone any advise please?
  • Hi everyone
Another 2 coins added to the £2 piggy here since my last post :-)

  • Morning peeps,

First of all I would like to say a huge thanks to Observer for holding the fort and welcoming the newbies to the thread…thanks hun for keeping it going whilst I was AWOL.

Secondly, I would like to apologise to the newbies and regular posters on the thread for going AWOL and not being able to update the thread/list. This was due to family reasons but I am now back.

I am pleased to say that I have now finally updated the list and would like to welcome to the club :D

I should add that you don’t have to save them all up and bank them at Christmas, some people bank them as and when they have a certain amount. Also if you find that you need to use some of the £2 coins that you have saved…don’t worry about it, this thread is just for fun and not serious in anyway so don’t be too hard on yourself.

I want to say that I have used any £2 coins that I had saved in my terramundi, we ended up being very short of funds so they came in handy. I have sort of started again with the saving but haven’t found any recently.

Well done to those with their savings and findings, you are all doing brilliantly.

    Happy hunting :D

Hi Tea, thank you for the welcome :)

I originally planned to save my coins so that Little Miss Gap and I could have a holiday next year. However, I am so close to paying off the end of my loan I changed my mind and decided to bank my coins monthly to add to the overpayment. Once it is paid off we can have a guilt-free holiday. July brought £20 and August brought £16 but I have had nothing for ages :(

Oh well. Nice that you are back :D
