Smart number charges

My daughter is in the military and she has been allocated a smart number starting 030 and seemingly wherever she is, she swipes something and whoever dials her number, she gets it direct.

Were I to dial the number from my landline, are smart numbers more expensive?.

I hadn't heard of the term 'smart number' (but I have now) but calling a UK 03 number from a UK landline or mobile must cost the same as calling an 01 or 02 number.

i.e. if you have inclusive calls (or inclusive calls at particular times), calls to 03 numbers are inclusive too.

Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
