Anyone bought crazy critters?

I want to get some toys for my dogs for Christmas, but they always shred teddies with stuffing all over the place.

I've seen an ad on TV for crazy critters, stuffing free dog toys with squeakers. They are £10 each, but I just wondered if anyone's tried them for their dogs before potentially wasting £20.

Are they tough enough for my two to play tug-of-war with? or do they just get ripped apart like all their other soft toys?

Hmm, I saw these and laughed. I get soft toys from the charity shops for my 2, cheap, cheerful and they love ripping the stuffing out of them, I take the eyes and labels off first though.
These toys seem to be a joke for £10 each, they don't look strong to me and the material covering the squeakers seems flimsy.
I know its not good for them to spread stuffing everywhere, and not good for them to eat it but as long as they only have them while i'm about they are fine.
Just my opinion but they seem a waste of money.

    That's what I thought.

But I've given up with the soft toys from the charity shop. Literally within minutes they have to be chucked out. Stuffing everywhere, that white fibrous stuff that's the devil to get out of my rugs.

I do want the dogs to have a soft toy though.

yeah, but it's not just the stuffing. The seams rip so easily too.

I was wondering if the crazy critters had a reinforced seam as the advertising indicates they're almost dog proof.

Mixed review on Amazon. One said it lasted for months and the other found it died pretty quickly. Not a lot of help really. If they like tug of war, have you tried the rope toys for them?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Yeah, the rope toys do last longer of course.

But my last dear old dog used to love snuggling up to his teddy, he had it for almost 13 years since he was a puppy, used to wash it with his tongue and take it to his basket with him - I've still got it.

I'd love my Lucy and Jack to be able to do the same with a soft toy...you can't cuddle a rope!
  • Having seen these being lovingly sucked my the MIL's lab I thought they might be OK. Sadly they still have the 'pluckability' factor, given that my hooligans can pluck a tennis ball bald in 10 mins I decided to save my money :)

For a tugging toy, take a pair of tights and tie knots in intervals down the length to give a good grip. Last for ever and the bit of stretch makes it even more fun.
