Unless you get a manager with a decent amount of festive spirit i doubt you'll get a replacement no.0

How did you pay? If by credit/debit card can you provide the statement with the transaction on it. If you paid by cash you're going to struggle to get a replacement. Have you checked the fuse?0

It was paid with a card but we brought a lot of bits at the same time and the transaction shows up for a price much higher than the kettle.
We had to unplug it as it started to smoke.0 -

That shouldn't matter provided that you have a copy of the card statement.
This should show the date (and possibly the time) of the purchase, and from this it should be fairly easy for the staff at Wilkinson to access sales records and find the relevant transaction.0 -

Haha, I doubt it! That would have to be kicked back to head office, no doubt. And they won't want to put the time or effort into going through their records to find it. So it'll likely just be refused point blank.0 -
Probably much easier just to get a new one.
They come as cheap as a fiver from Asda/Tesco etc.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

Quite possibly, but as the OP will have proof of purchase, they can then insist on either a repair or replacment kettle.
(Trading standards state that a bank statement of credit card should be sufficient for this purpose.)0 -
so if i take the kettle and bank statement in to Wilkinson i should be able to get a replacement, cant believe i dont have the receipt i usually keep them all, must have been one that got away.0

To make life easier you should always keep boxes for 1 year,
I always do and put the receipt inside them. If I do this with everything then I know exactly where a receipt is if i need it.
I just chuck them in the loft, flatpacked if they are large.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Just been down to Wilkinson and an exchange was made, very helpful person i spoke to.
I think i will hang on to the box this time, as i dont think it could always be so easy.0
