Barclaycard help needed

Hey guys,

I'm after a bit of advice. I have a barclayard which i transferred a balance too when i separated from my husband. I have no probs meeting my payments and i have a direct debit set up. I decided to change banks (voted with my feet!!) and i asked the bank to do a switch...they didn't do it properly (so much for voting with my feet!) so i had to log in and do it myself. I changed it and then noticed that two months later they took out the wrong account causing me charges from my previous bank. I phoned Barclaycard and was told initially it was my mistake until i pointed out that the DD details had gone wrong through the system and they agreed, so they set up the new DD but at the same time asked for more than DOUBLE the monthly payment, i questioned it and they said it was for the month it failed (due to wrong account) and next months to cover the DD payment, I agreed and gave them their money. Fast forward to now and i have a letter stating they are charging me for failed direct debit, so i phone up and say what the hell and he states its fine, my account is fine and the DD is due to come out on 29th, so i say why the letter, he says ignore it, must be from the last time. I have then logged into Equifax and have since found out they have put a late payment on my credit file for November :eek:

How do i go about sorting this, it's clearly not my fault, i'm at my wits end now. It's the only amber on my report :(
Will they now make me pay double like before? I don't get paid till 24th...please any advice is gratefully received lovely people.

    Just phone them up and ask them to correct your file. If they have already acknowledged the fault was caused by them then it shouldn't be a problem.

    If they aren't willing to correct your record, then move to writing to them and following their official complaints procedure. Once that is exhausted, move on to complaining to the FOS.

  • Spoke to Barclaycard, they answered quickly which was good, eventually got through to a team leader and he has forwarded it to the complaints department. He was rather helpful, just hope the complaints department are as useful ....
