Badly fitted Composite door

Hi,

I have just had a Composite front door fitted, not present during installation. When I came home it straight away looked badly fitted with uneven gaps between door and frame and a draught coming through (just as much as old door).
On closer look on internal side it does not touch brush insulation strip and on external it does not touch black rubber strip on the majority of frame, should it be touching all way round?
At the bottom corner (hinge side) there is a 1.75cm gap between frame and door and I can actually see through, measuring around door some gaps get upto nearly 1cm between door and frame in other areas.
The big question as I will be calling supplier tomrrow, is this door adjustable?
It has only one corner without gaps so I feel Not!
Door also seems to catch but installer told family member this will settle down guess when it has broken/worn down, lock also seems to catch when lifting handle to engage motices.

Sorry about long thread I am raging as cannot vent at them until AM.

can you provide photos. , would in particular be interested to see how the hinge side could have such a gap
    Forgotten but not gone.
  • Have photo's but don't know how to attach, sorry.

Worst gap is hinge side bottom of door can see light through.

Going to bring vernier from work tomorrow so I can take more accurate measurements of gaps.

    Had great expectations.

I have hung kitchen and internal doors and just cannot see how they can adjust with gaps on three corners without making the gap worse in the one good corner. Maybe they will surprise me.

Do you know if it should be touching brush draught excluder all round?
  • Have you paid them - if not tell them you are not happy with it, you shouldnt be able to see daylight or have draughts.

I've had a rockdoor fitted recently, fortunately the fitting was good, probably about 5mm gap all round but all the seals are in contact and no draughts. Unfortunately the door has a manufacturing fault and nothing is level or square on the door pattern so I rejected it straight away and havent paid. They sent a service engineer out who agreed and they have now got Rockdoor to agree to remake the door and come out and fit it. Needless to say I will not be paying until its completed to my satisfaction.

I can only imagine it was a rookie building the door who messed it up - it does annoy me a little that the fitter didnt spot it all and report on it.
