data cable, samsung phone

hi

i have just got a new samsung d600, in the box it has a data cable.

am i right in thinking that this means i can take things from my computer or internet onto my phone?
where do i start - i would like a new ringtone.

You can transfer music via mp3 and place onto your phone for a ringtone. This is what i have done.

open software and click on transfer files and away you go.

I have the same phone and this is how I get stuff onto my PC (photos etc...). You'll need to load up the CD that came with the phone (Samsung PC Studio) onto your PC. Then you just plug your phone into the USB port on your PC with the cable and launch the SAmsung PC Studio. ONe thing I have noticed is that it can be a little bit flaky sometimes and you may need to mess around with the Settings -> USB Settings on your phone. Alternatively if you have Bluetooth on your PC that's much easier!

you may wish to check the software for an update, as I updated the samsung pc studio - this may assist if it is flakey.
