Should I wait for this buyer?

I sold an item which ended last Monday, I didn't have any communication or feedback from the buyer and have sent an invoice and a reminder email. The buyer has emailed be today saying that he has been ill but he will pay by paypal next week! If they can write an email surley they can send an paypal payment

Should I wait for him?

  • i would email again and ask him to pay now as he has had ample opportunity to pay by paypal. If he says no or doesn't reply then give 24 hours that you will relist and neg feedback him

The buyer is probably stalling till payday I have had it happen to me a few times. Like previous op says give him 24-48 hours

It's funny how so many ebayers fall ill towards the end of the month!!!...definately stalling till payday....chances are they will pay and if you are happy with the price then I would say wait...if you think you get more then don't.

Have they done anything else on ebay recently - it may confirm their 'illness' story or disprove it

I wouldnt wait til next week - I would email them today and say if payment isnt received by end of tomorrow (Monday) then you will start an unpaid item dispute. They have had ample time to pay for the item - even if they have been ill they have obviously checked their emails in order to send you one saying they will pay next week - in the time it took them to do this they could have done the payment!

I have had this before. After I emailed prompting payment the girl who bought my item just kept sending upbeat messages saying things like 'Hi, God sorry I thought I'd paid, I will try and pay you tomorrow' this went on for some time, I was quite new to ebay and didn't want to start getting too heavy, so I just kept sending polite but 'give me the money' emails and she did eventually pay after about two weeks.

So I do think this person is stalling and will probably pay, I really wanted the item I was selling to go without the expense of relisting so it turned out to be worth waiting a little bit - even though I know this is a complete pain.
