Item bought by a non-UK buyer

Yup, if you file an unpaid item dispute then you should be able to get your fees back and the feedback removed.
For the price it sold for, though, finding an insured courier to Aus might have been worth it. £1000 should be enough to find a decent carrier.
OP did a mutual though so is now stuck. Those fees are a bit 'ouch' though and as suggested it might be worth throwing themselves on ebay's mercy to see if they won't bend the rules this once. However even if ebay did allow an nPB the buyer wants the item so will just pay and OP will be back to square one.
OP, there are two basic places you need to block bidders in countries that you do not ship to. Frstly make sure that the postage options clearly show UK only and the box regarding foreign postage is ticked (or chosen) for no International postage. Then make sure your seller preferences are set to enforce that.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Just wanted to update and say thanks for all the advice - I called eBay and they were actually really helpful - they checked the messages the buyer had sent me and saw that she was being agressive and threatening and had somehow managed to buy the camera even though all my preferences were set to block non-UK buyers, so they agreed to remove the negative feedback! Wow, what a huge relief! The transaction is still showing as open (with her as the buyer) and they told me on the phone that they can't cancel it because the buyer declined the "cancel transaction" request, but they said that there's nothing the buyer can do now because they gave me a credit for my fees which makes the transaction effectively "void" (is that true? Seems a bit weird still having the transaction there saying "awaiting payment". Don't want to risk the buyer getting abusive again and leaving negative feedback again or taking any action!)... but thanks so much for the help. I think i'll give eBay a rest until after christmas and then just list the camera again from scratch.0

She can't do anything at all as her only revenge was feedback and that has been elft but removed.
Did ebay give you your fees back though?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
