Quick query re: IB and Carer's Allowance

He was getting IB before that date, so I imagine there will be a child element. We've always advised them of benefits though - precisely to avoid this sort of issue - so there obviously shouldn't have been an adult element - but the letter I have lumps it all into one total, so I don't know.

I just hope this new letter turns up before christmas - apparently it was raised over week ago, and it's not turned up yet - this was shaping up to be a half-decent year after many really bad ones because of my husband's health, so this is the last thing we need hanging over our heads

I know it's easy for me to say but try not to worry. Unfortunately the postal backlogs in large parts of the country is horrendous at the moment due to a mixture of the recent bad weather and additional Christmas post.

If it is an adult dependency increase that was in payment and the local benefit office were aware that CA was also in payment but failed to take any action then it is classed as an official error and they can't ask you to repay any money.
