  • 52p, same price as comparable brands in Asda, Sainsbury etc but great for cakes
I am a cow so cannot speak Bullshine but I do recognise its smell when I come upon it.

"under 50p for a bag that's got 500g in it so they really are cheap as anything" said a website but in a taste-test they are compared to cardboard. This puts me off a bit so I have not tried them.

On a side note, the Value Kitchen Towel range at two 120 sheet rolls for 99p are a great buy - I always have a roll in the kitchen for mopping up small spills or beside me when cooking

To be honest I don't really ever buy the "value" range - normally buy Tesco own brand or 'discount brand' though - on certain things it actually works out cheaper for size etc than the "value range"

Two things I wouldn't recommend from the "value range"

Bread - went off in about a day - still had a week left on the date
Tinned Macaroni Cheese - Yuck I can still remember the smell - needless to say it ended up in the bin

    Aug 2014 £114,750 -35 yrs (2049)
    Sept 2016 £104,800

  • That's curious! We buy that, both white and brown, thick cut, as we think it makes great toast.

Mind you, I tend to keep it in the freezer and only remove slices as I need them for toasting.

I agree about tinned value macaroni cheese - smelt like GLUE and tasted like it as well.

Odd as the Value tinned spaggetti and Value baked beans are OK

  • I like the Tesco fabric softener and tumble dry sheets.

Have you tried the Value Biological Concentrated Laundry Liquid - £0.95 for 1 litre - great for low temperature washes (when the value powder often fail to dissolve) and does up to 28 washes. Nice smell too!

I haven't tried it. I am still ploughing through my £4 (1/2 price) box of Daz's 42 washes washing powder!

I use Tesco's Spring Fresh Concentrating Fabric Conditioner 1.5 litre (42 washes) and it smells lovely. Barcode is 5051277485026. Sometimes they are on the 2 for £2 or £3 offer.

Do you reckon it might clear up a bit if you used a branded product, say, Radox or something?
Oh come on, don't be silly.
