Need to pick your brains please!
So far I have Blot and Og's Monster Party - read amazingly well by the gorgeous Captain Jack on CBeebies.
This is becoming an annual event. Last year it was books for a 2 year old and I got some great suggestions. I'm sure you wonderful parents, grandparents, aunties and uncles out there can provide equally good recommendations this time too!

Not sure about specific books but the Book People have some fantastic deals. Got quite a few for my 4 year old.

How about The Very Hungry Caterpillar? An oldie but still a favourite! I also remember one called something like Animals Should Not Wear Clothing which is great for young kids, but I don't know who wrote it or even if it's still in print. I Want My Potty by Tony Ross is another one I'd heartily recommend - it's great fun.0

My nursery class particularly love these...
Peace at Last - Jill Murphy
Any of the Kipper books by Mick Inkpen
The Tiger who Came to Tea - Judith Kerr
The Gruffalo - Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler
Dear Zoo - Rod Cambell
Why don't you make a story sack - children love these as it makes the story more interactive.

Thanks so much everyone. I'm compiling a wish list on Amazon from all this. (Peace at Last has 9 rave reviews!) You're going to make a little boy's bedtime storytime great fun!0

We love Winnie The Witch books and anything by Helen Cooper (Tatty Ratty is my absolute favourite story for home and with my class at school).0

How about books for a very advanced 3 year old? Mine gets 3 or 4 stories read to her every night and I think she had memorised every word of every Donaldson / Scheffler book by a month after her 3rd birthday...so I am now a bit stumped as to what to get next though. Some of those Ladybird fairy tales are a bit violent and the latest Donaldson / Scheffler one has a ghost in it...not keen on explaining death and beheading to her quite yet....0
