Waiting for 3 payments but going away

A had a batch of auctions end over a week ago and I'm still waiting for 3 payments. One said he was posting a postal order a week ago and since then I have heard nothing and he hasn't responded to my emails. The other has paid by paypal but the payment still hasn't cleared and the other hasn't responded to anything at all. But the problem is I am going on holiday in a couple of days time. So whats going to happen if these payments turn up while I'm away? I timed the auctions so that they would end well in advance of me going away but still ended up with 3 problems.

Any useful advice will be thanked :j

As a buyer, I'd be happy to receive an email explaining the circumstances.
You've done your best to avoid this, and 2 of them have ignored you, so the fault is theirs.

The delayed Paypal payment is trickier - is there anything the buyer can do to speed up cleared payment?

Edited to add that I've re-read this, and would like to apologise for the complete lack of useful advice!

I emailled the paypal payer about 3 days ago but had no response.

I thought about emailling the others who's payment I'm waiting for. Call me cautious but I'm not overly keen on telling someone I don't know who's got my address that my house will be empty for a week. Am I being over sensitive? My boyfriend's parents did the same a few years ago and came back to an empty house.

    Not over-sensitive at all.

Email them to say that the people who will be house-sitting for you (a police officer married to a martial arts expert, I think) will not have access to your Ebay account.

I would mail and explain politely that you will be going away on X date and that the people who are staying to look after your house do not know how to use the PC (or e bay if you prefer!) and that any items for which cleared payment has not been received before this date will be posted promptly on your return by first class post. Simply appologise for any inconvience this will cause & ask them to mail you by return if they have any queries.

Perhaps phone them if they do not seem to be receiving/responding to emails? As has been said, people are very understanding as long as they know what is going on. Enjoy your holiday!

I had a similar problem despite amending the winning buyer emails for a week before I was going away to tell buyers that payment would need to be received by x date as I would be away. 3 of them still had not paid by the time I went away so I sent them another email copying the winning buyer email and saying it would have to wait till I got back.

On return...guess what...still no payments. All 3 became non paying bidders and received strikes!
