Hi Lauranurse
When buying a new car their a lots of variables, for example the value of you current car, if you buy on finance, if you buy at the start or end of the month etc. The dealer will probably have around £800-£1000 in a car of this value, in this he will have to pay the salesman (£50ish) pay the service department for a PDI (pre delivery inspection), contribute toward the cost of valleting (£50ish) and cover the general cost of running the dealership. They may choose to offer you a discount on the car itself or they may offer you more for your part exchange (Over allowance).
The best time to do a deal would be now, if you can buy this week before the VAT goes up and while the dealer is still chasing the end of quarter and end of year targets. That way you may get a better deal. Alternately if you can’t buy until Jan have a look for a pre-reg that the dealer registered this year to hit target but will be looking to get rid of at cost price.
I would aim to get around a £500-£700 discount/over allowance. Also worth trying to get some sort of service plan on the car, not uncommon to get 3 years servicing thrown in as well.
Hope that helps a bit!0 -
Hi Laura Nissan have a 5% margin to play with off base price on these cars. This makes a Visia without mettalic paint £8547.99 If your local dealer won't help with this PM me as I work at a Nissan dealer and certainly will. If you go to your local dealer with this proposal though they should be happy to take the order. One word of advise order before the end of the year if you can as Nissan will absorb the VAT increase on any Micra ordered before 31st December otherwise the price WILL go up next year.0
