Is this an acceptable figure for compensation

Hi

I am seeking some advice please.

Basically
1) Plusnet provide both our phone & internet services
2) We notified them of a house move
3) Received email confirming retention of number and move details
4) Phone & broadband stopped workking 5 days before they stated in email

Rang to ask why the phone wasn't working, told in a very off hand manner that someone has made a mistake and done the phone change over early, and the broadband wouldn't be for another week or so.
I was told to write in if I wanted to complain.

Escelated to a complaint with supervisor (after being told no one was available,in mettings etc..;))
Basically said nothing we can do,then said you know we have changed your number would you like it ?
Replied well that would nice, or would like me to try to guess it ?
(what the hell did he think I would say no don't tell me :rotfl:)

Eventually he offered a £20 credit which is basically what we pay for the top broadband package plus (under duress) a credit for the 5 days of no phone.

He told me that we are now with a different exchange despite moving only 6 miles,so loss of retention of number not their fault I accept that no problem, but surely we should have been notified and told the new number ?

Now I have just had to spend 12 minutes on phone to utility supplier (from my mobile) which is charegeable.
I cannot now do the online shopping I had planned (was waiting until closer to house move to ensure delivery to new address)
I have ebay auctions running that I hope will sell before xmas
I am at daughters now on laptop but that is not practical as she lives 20 miles away.

I asked him if I bought a dongle and top up would they at least pay towards the top up and he said no.

Is this a fair offer in peoples opinion for the sheer inconvenience they have caused, and the totally so what attitude of the two people I dealt with :(

Terrible service would welcome others views before I decide wether to formalise the complaint or just accept it and put up with it
"Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes."

All truth goes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Then, it is violently opposed. Finally, it is accepted as self-evident.

Unfortunatly it is BT Openreach who do all the work in the exchange on behalf of your provider.Problem is you have to get one to admit who messed up.
