This christmas my partner desperately wants an Ipod and has specifically asked for the 5th Generation, even tohugh it is not the most up to date.
I have located one on ebay which promises to be delivered in time for chirstmas and the price is cheaper than everywhere else.
The seller is not a buisness or a powerseller but does have 98% positive feedback withonly 1 negative from 145 sales. From looking at their other items sold they come accross as a regular ebayer selling a range of different things. However when I look at the current items for sale they have about a hundred Ipods in all the different colours all with the Garuntee before christmas promise and all at lower prices than everywhere else online.
To me it seems a bit too good to be true, but I am pretty new to ebay and buyingt hings online and wondered am I just being too paranoid. Could this be a genuine offer? Any advice would really be appreciated.

that is what has threw me, some of their Ipods for sale have "22 sold" and "8 sold" but they have only had 2-3 feedbacks recently and they are posative but the item they are leaving the feedback for is not disclosed.0

Personally a new I anything is not something i would buy from ebay .
Ok you get your money back if its dodgy but Christmas present to late and to much trouble if it goes wrong .
Paranoid is a good state of mind for ebay it might be 95 % good guys but the other 5% .

It could be genuine. If its an older generation they may have bought up stock from an insolvent company or something or they could have fallen of the back of a van. If the price is unfeasably low I would avoid, if it's a believable price I might be tempted to take a chance. There's no sense crying over every mistake.

Thanks for your help guys. The Ipod 5th Generation was in Argos for £130 but now they don't sell them anymore and stock the 6th Generation. Most places I can find the 5th Generation it is selling now for between £169-£190 and wont deliver before christmas. The seller on ebay has them at £149.99, so it could well be that they have genuinely bought them from a retairler and saw the oppertunity.
If the worst case scenario happens and it is a scam, how likely would it be I would see my money again?
*would it be against the rules to post a link so that some experienced ebayers could look it over and see what they think?0 -
Its not against the rules so long as you arent the seller, go ahead and post the link.:A:A:A:A:A:A0

I would say that's expensie no?
Anyway instores, I've seen some in Game and Gamestation, same price as that. The last day for delivery with RM to be delivered for xmas was today? I think0 -
Thanks for your reply Kat, they were in stores for cheaper but as far as I have found they are out of stock and they only stock the 6th Generation now. I guess I should have bought one well in advance.0

Looks legit from what I can see, if I was looking for one I'd probably order it. As the product is discontinued the prices are only likely to go up in future for this model. There's no sense crying over every mistake.
