It was meant to raise something - I mean a laugh!

Ordered two online this morning - one for me and one for a prezzie but tonight I found it really annoying that Boots are advertising this offer on prime time TV (here come the girls....) I wouldn't even mind that so much, but plastered all over the ad in huge letters is the £25 price (unusual for an ad to show a price and especially thoughtless for something being marketed as a Christmas gift) so whoever you give it to will know exactly how much you paid and and it would make me look like some kind of cheapskate (ok, I am but it's up to me to let on, not Boots!)
So because of this silly advert, when I go and collect from the branch on Wednesday I'll just return the one I was going to give as a gift, buy the person something else whose price hasn't been paraded in front of millions of people and keep the other set for myself!0 -

ah but for all they know you could have bought it at full price before the offer went on ! and any way I would be over the moon if i received a gift like this and certainly would not care if they got it on special offer0 -
Sorry to hear some MSE-ers haven't been able to get one.
How about those people giving the location of their nearest barren store, and then those of us in the same area could PM and give details of stock in the locality?
I'd be delighted to help anyone, and I'm sure others would do the same. It's just it's easier if you live, say, in Ilford, saying "no stock in Ilford", and then I'd nip in and say "there's loads in both Romford stores".
I'm not a Soap and Glory fan, but if Bath Sumptuous went out of stock, I would cry bitter tears for [STRIKE]days[/STRIKE] weeks!

You have a point but unfortunately the person it was intended for would! :embarasse0 -
does anyone know if they had much stock in bmth? id love to get one for my mum. thanks
Havent been to Bournemouth today but Poole had 30 or so left on display at 11am. Branksome had half a dozen at 12 but none at 5pm when I popped in to print a photo.
Last year Bournemouth seemed to have a steady trickle as I remember popping in a few times and them always having a pile.If my words are missing letters then please excuse me....my keyboard is a tad dodgy!!0 -

I would be delighted too. Could you get them something else to go with it?Mortgage Free as of 31/5/11 :j:j:j:j:j:j:j0 -
Got one for my daughter in Huddersfield town centre store about 5pm. Lots left on 2 pallets. Man at till said they'd had 850 delivered, had sold about 500 today and expected to sell out by lunchtime tomorrow. Other branch (Hudds Leeds Rd) had 400 to sell & had sold more than half. For those living in the area still disappointed, suggest a quick trip to Huddersfield in the morning?0

if i was the person you were giving the gift too, i wouldnt care how much you spent on it! just because it was on offer doesnt make you a cheap skate! its the thought of the actual gift itself and wether that cost 25 pounds or 60 pounds i wouldnt care as id just love the pressie itself!
if its a gift you think this person will really like why should price matter?
i bought 3 today one for myself and 2 as gifts, and i know my friends will love them thats why i bought it it could have cost a tenna and it wouldnt have altered anything and i know if they saw the price they'd just give me a pat on the back for getting a bargain!
and then go mad over the products with the price a distant memory
edit: just read your 2nd post, thats actually quite sad a person would feel that way
(caring about the price tag) if it was me i'd commend you for getting one!! 0 -
