Help estimating my remaining winter elec bill

I've just switched back to scottish power.
I've taken two readings in the past few weeks since I've had the heater on all the time. I am unsure of the rates though plus fixed etc.
I got my head around the water ones now but still learning the elec.
Could someone do the calc. for me and tell me how they did it.
My two readings are-
26/11/10: 12641-4
15/12/10: 13192-5
What time does it usually start to get warmer such that the heaters would be no longer required? That is when I'd want the calculation up until.
I just looked at my agreement and it said mine is the no standing charge, premier plus electricity offer plan. Just found a link with some more info; http://www.scottishpower.co.uk/support-centre/payments/prepayment/no-standing-charge.aspx.
I am on a standard elec. meter.
Thanks.
Also with these readings, I have been using a convector heater which has been switched on all day while I'm awake, would it be cheaper to buy a oil one judging by these readings?

19 days at 29kwh per day equals the difference between the 2 readings. There are 91 days in a quarter. So you'll need to multiply them them out to get 29kwh times 91 days = 2639kwh. 225kwh are charged at your higher rate and the remainder of 2414kwh are charged at your lower rate. So multiply them and add them. I don't know what your rate is so you'll have to do that bit.
Convector will cost the same as the oil filled radiator but the oil filled radiator does give out a nicer more steady gentle heat rather than on or off as the convector does.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)

Cheers.
It's onlythe first 225kw per quarter that is charged at the higher rate though isn't it? That is what it says on my welcome pack then it says the remaineder is at the lower rate. 'First 225kw used per quarter = X, All/Day remaining = Y'.0 -

Here is my calc. if you'd care to check it seems right and around normal price wise for a single person:
Rates:
14.757 for 1st 225kw
9.482 for remainder
Calc:
225 x 0.14757 = 33.20
2414 x 0.09482 = 228.89
Total: £262.09
I recall when I was living with another person it came to £200 odd for both of us before so seems about the same. It was just over £200, like £202 I think. We were living on the 5th floor back then though and it really trapped the heat whereas now I'm on the 1st floor and it is REALLY freezing in my flat if I leave my heater off for a few mins. >_<.0 -
Hi moneymaker2010
If you have internet access in the house and you can read your meters safely and easily then I would recommend setting up an online account with us. This way you can create statements as often as you wish and see exactly what you have used. Check out the link below for more details and benefits of setting up an online account:
http://www.scottishpower.co.uk/your-home/existing-customer/online-energy.aspx
By setting up the online account, you could review what you are using in the property and record meter readings over a period one week, for example. Make another change and then review the consumption for the next 7 days. All consumption will be held within your online account so you can always go back and refer to it.
Let me know if you have any questions and I'll be happy to help.
Kind Regards
