IB50 Sent but in exempt group

I have been sent an IB50 questionaire to complete but I receive high rate care DLA so fall into an exempt category, has this been sent in error? I am having anxiety attacks just thinking about a medical but if needs be I can fill the form in. Is the exempt thing still around? I am concerned that my hospital keep cancelling appointments and each appointment is with a different psychiatrist so the write ups are never consistent, I am worried sick someone please help :(

The exemption for high rate care DLA still exists and you shouldn't have received the IB50 but now that it's been sent you need to respond in order to avoid potential hiccups in your claim.

Give them a ring to point this out and if they still want the form back fill in the personal details but rather than complete the section on the activities you can/can't do just note down that you are exempt from the test due to your DLA award.

Thank you very much for replying, it's really been causing me some anxiety problems this afternoon so my husband gently persuaded me to telephone them and mention the exemption, I got through to the rudest, most abrupt woman who snapped 'if it's to do with your benefits just fill it in or you won't get paid' I promptly burst into tears and hung up :o My husband and I then continued to look on the internet and everywhere was saying about the exemption so I phoned back after calming down and praying I didn't get the same woman as before and this time I got a young man who was slightly more pleasant who said he'd never heard of this but would email his manager I think he said who would telephone me back. I assumed he meant tomorrow, I am just hoping my husband is here as I can't answer the phone, the thought terrifies me, silly I know :o I don't mind filling the form in, it will take me a while though but can be done but the horror stories you hear about Atos scare me so much even though it was fine last time although I was in such a dark place I can't remember it.

If they have not rang you back tommorow, get back on the phone to them and tell them no one rang you back.
[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that

Thank you everyone. They phoned me at 9.15am, thankfully it was a number similar to what I phoned yesterday so I answered it, a lovely lady on the phone, told me to disregard it and she will be putting a note on the system so no more are sent.
