help with samsung pim &file manger

i am still trying to learn a little more with my samsung pc suite, pim & file manager got it all connected but how can i store things from my phone to the pc because each time i connect my phone it overwrites what i already had ie i transfered all my sms to the file manager then deleted them from my phone (as inbox was getting full) but as the suite is set to auto load data etc... it overwrites the original rather than adding it to it, i know i can uncheck the box to auto load data but i need to be able to save all info to pc, i can do it with images etc.... but i want to do it with address book and sms/mms etc....i think there is a way to save to pc but i just cant figure it out it says to look at the memory icon i cant find it, can anyone help me out here if i cant save the stuff i want saved i cant see the logic of have the cable:o
