yes i heard the italian durum wheat they use for pasta (traditionally a cheap staple) has also fared badly. personally i'm wheat free diet and don't eat meat either so i'm not sure if that's impacted on my food costs.

The recent weather has hit the winter vegetable crop in this country.

Rising fuel costs will increase distribution costs across the board.

    And grow your own......
  • When another poster mentioned a 10 times increase in IRs, it bought home the reality. That`s 5%!!!!!!!! Remember debates on here saying that a rate of 5% was incredibly low and we should be mindful of a return to the median, I think a little over 8%.

Had Gordon stuck to his words regarding not letting the housing market get out of control, I think sticking at 5% + might have helped. Imho, the rate of 0.5% is not just measure to help the economy, it is more like a cry for help.

Oh well, should have bought a couple of flats outright, but Mrs. Hancock was not into btl. I wasn`t keen also.
