Xbox 360 @ GAME

Hi everyone! Just wondered if anyone could help me with some trouble I am having with GAME.
Last week I purchased a pre-owned 60GB Xbox 360 for my boyfriend's Christmas. I asked when purchasing it if all the cables were included which I was told they were and noticed a few minor scratches on it console which I was okay with as it was understandable as it was pre-owned. However, a week later my boyfriend's mum entered a new phone contract and was given a free Xbox 360 Slim so I figured I would just return mine and everything would work out.
I went along to tonight my local GAME (not the one I originally purchased it from) to return it. The boy checked the console over when I was told that it was missing a scart converter(?) and opened up the front panel of the console and saw that the warranty sticker had been taken off. As he was doing so, a part of the front panel broke off which he just shook his head and put it back in the box. He then told me that it should not have been sold in this condition and that there was no way I could get a refund without the warranty sticker being in tact. I was told to phone the branch i bought it from and speak to the manager there.
I got home and did just that, however, I was told again that I would not be able to get a refund and that there was no way it would have been sold to me without a warranty sticker as all are checked before they come in and before they go out. He then said to phone customer services but that they would not be able to do much and I would probably just be told the same.
I had no idea about what to check for when buying a pre-owned xbox and assumed that when being sold it, it would have everything required and especially when buying from a major retailer such as GAME. Obviously not though! Can anyone give me any advice on this situation or shed more light on the warranty sticker as I do not know much about this! Thank you so much in advance

Thank you for your reply! With regards to the image you posted of the warranty sticker on the console I was sold, it looks exactly like that. Like it has been peeled off. Does it seem likely to you that I would be able to get my money back on this situation?
Thank you

You could call the managers bluff and ask him to prove the console was in the condition he says.
At Comet we have to fill out condition reports which are signed off by myself and the customer. Unless he has some proof that the console was sold to you in a state that he is saying I don't think he has a leg to stand on.
Alternatively you could just wrap it in a towel, make it red ring and return it for a refund.0 -

Yeah, I'm sure I read that too on a site. Will need to ask them when I phone customer services tomorrow. Mine has no warranty sticker whether GAME or Microsoft!0

If you buy online you have statutory rights to return stuff.... if you go into a shop no such protection.0

Can't you just show them the receipt - isnt that proof enoughSmile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0
