Toys R Us Cardiff - now open

Hiya just returned from the new Cardiff Bay Toys R Us which has now opened. It is huge and it took me ages to get a parking space.

Anyway, there was a marquee at the front of the store and a moving Cyber man was there to have photos taken with the children as well as a dalek.

In store, there were lots of prize giveaways, competitions and various characters walking around such as Dark vadar, Barbie, a lego man and also a Cyber man too (much to my son's excitement).

On the way out every child was given a goodie bag this consisted of:

A vodafone t-shirt, 2 lots of sweets, a geo-max game, a poster, a flag and a mini box of cereal and a book. An excellent freebie.

Did anyone else go ?

  • Went to Cardiff specially to see the "Torchwood" step at the Millennium centre (it is blocked off as the council are tarmacking the path! AND to see the new Toys "R" Us - tried 3 times to get in, each time the que went on for miles and gave up!

Travelled all the way from not so sunny Tenby to see a cyberman and did not get to see so much as a sonic screwdriver.

Mind you, did pop into town and found the new Hawkin shop opposite Argos in the Queens arcade, so a little happier after all.

Glad to see those that did manage to get in had a good reward for their efforts.
  • Went today...nightmare....que for parking mad....inside mad....people everywhere, you would think they have a massive sale on!! They did have some good half price bargains though, will go again but not on sunday pm.

I went on 28th Oct too - but didn't see any Cybermen, freebies or competitions. They must have run out by the time we got there which was only about 1pm.

I didn't think it was any bigger than when the shop was in town. I was slightly disappointed, but will give it another go when it's less busy. May be I'll wait until the roads have been completed!
