Matalan Christmas items going to half price on Friday

I was returning something to Matalan today and asked the price of a Christmas item, the nice sales assistant said 'shhhhhhhh don't tell anyone I told you but if you wait till Friday they will all be half price!'

I would wait and see if the stuff you bought goes to half price and if it does return your order and buy again?

i asked 3 seperate shop assistants in matalan today when the xmas sales started.

one of them said "we haven't been told", and 2 of them said boxing day.

i said its always around xmas eve, she said not this year its all been changed.

i really think there just trying to avoid the mad sales rush before christmas though and giving customers false information.

i almost bought 3 items with yellow highlighter pen on the barcodes, but remembered this is sales items i think.

but then last year the barcodes had pink highlighter pen on for half price items.

does anyone know what the different colours mean on the barcodes ?

There was quite alot of christmas gift sets on buy one get one free though, and the ladies winter coats were half price aswell

It is not clothes and homewear that is on sale on Friday but Christmas stuff as my post states. The clothing sale starts boxing day as you suggested but there is talk that it may start before Christmas, the sales assistants have not been told as I do not think they have made up their minds yet!
